In this process, we often fail to understand that diets will come and go and every month there will be something related to healthy eating that would become trending. But then when you look up to the celebrities and closely analyze their lifestyle you would find they don’t really fall into the traps of these diets like us and just keep in mind certain points when it comes to healthy eating and stick by it throughout their life.

In this article, all the necessary points are discussed so that healthy eating just does not become a trend for you but becomes an embraced lifestyle just like that of the female celebrities we tend to follow so much.

1. Warm Water First

Well while many of us would be sipping on a cup of joe or a specially ordered Darjeeling tea first thing in the morning and thinking how these top Bollywood actresses stay so glowing, they might be just gulping down a simple glass of warm water. If you may ask the reason behind this choice, it’s simply because of the benefits associated with it.

Having warm water first thing in the morning helps to flush out all the toxins from your intestine and keeps the gut safe from any unwanted digestion problems.

When the toxins are out from your body, your skin can do nothing else but just to glow. You can even mix it with some lemon and honey to help dissolve the fat and food particles and then direct it out of your body.

2. Avoiding Artificial Sweeteners

Actually not only 32 female actors, almost all the actors both male and female of Bollywood stand by this rule. Starting from the national heartthrob Milind Soman to the beautiful Shilpa Shetty, they all have helped spread awareness about the harmful health effects of including refined white sugar in your daily diet.

Sugar, as you would already know by now, increases glucose levels in the body which has a direct effect on your mood. It also increases the risk of obesity, heart diseases and diabetes.

Every female actor mainly prefer a natural source for the added sweetness required in their food instead of an artificial one. These natural sources could be coconut sugar, honey, stevia, maple syrup etc.

The best part is that all these things are readily available in any market nearby you; it’s just that we have forgotten their importance in our lives and have started depending on artificial sources.

3. Early and Light Dinner

When asked by what time at night they prefer to finish up their dinner, the majority of the actors stated that on a normal day when there are no shoots, they finish up their dinner by latest 7 to 8 pm.

They try to maintain this time even during workdays but if it is a busy schedule they tend to finish up dinner by 9 pm. It is not only an early dinner that they tend to stick by, but the dinner is also always kept light.

Mostly the option of light and healthy soups came in the mind of all the actors, or even a healthy bowl of salad would be their choice to stick by. Eating an early dinner helps in weight loss, enhances better sleep, keeps your heart health at check and has many more such good health benefits.

4. Sticking to Ghar Ka Khana (Home Cooked Food)

Home cooked food

As this generation of millennials is slowly moving away from home-cooked food, Bollywood is still betting highly on the plethora of nutrition received from the kitchen of one’s own house. You might be thinking why this decision matters?

Well you won’t disagree if I say the love with which food is prepared at home and the precision with which health can be kept on the check is something, eateries can never include in your palate especially when the food is made to serve many others and cutting costs is the hidden item along with other dishes in the menu. And guess what this choice will not only save your health but will also benefit your wealth because eating home-cooked food is far cheaper than buying it from a restaurant.

Every actor in Bollywood always tries to make it a point to carry their lunch boxes with them wherever they go for work except if the shoot is somewhere miles away from their home.

Akshay Kumar has even said that instead of eating something unhealthy outside, he always chooses to have something as simple as a banana so that he could stay away from food that would harm his body.

5. Seasonal food choices

The best way to get the most nutrition from fruits and vegetables is by selecting the seasonal produce. When we see YouTubers, famous celebrities from other countries having different kinds of fruits and vegetables we often tend to think only those food items are healthy for our body.

The fruits and veggies that you may see are actually the seasonal produce in their respective country. Each country has its own list of seasonal food items and it is best to stick by that norm so that the right nutrition reaches our body.

When mango is in season, actors prefer having mangoes, when jaggery is in season, they consume jaggery. Take a look into the practices followed by your ancestors. The eating habits were a lot healthier during earlier times and the number of people having diseases like obesity, cholesterol, thyroid, diabetes, etc., were far less.

6. Eating Fruits in the Morning

We often struggle to choose the right breakfast to kick start our day in a proper way. So why not end this struggle the way the Bollywood female actors are doing it. Have a fruit right in the morning which is in season.

It works as a very nice pre or post-workout snack. You can even add fruits to your bowl of oats or any other cereal in order to get more nutrition from the very first meal of the day.

7. Practicing Wholesome Eating

Whole foods

The term wholesome or more commonly known as whole foods means having food in its natural state which is neither refined nor processed. Whole foods examples are whole grains, vegetables, fruits, legumes, etc.

The most common food that is embedded in almost all of our favourite dishes is refined white flour. Starting from white slices of bread, cakes, pizza, pasta, you name it and it is made of white flour.

There are other foods too that are included in the list of non-whole foods like fried chips, commercially packaged foods, sugary breakfast cereals etc, but in majority, you will find most of the unhealthy dishes are made of white processed flour which has had many ill effects on human health. Therefore, this becomes also a reason why actors tend to stay away from this list.

Some have even replaced chapati made from atta (wheat flour) with other healthier variants like ragi (finger millet) and bajra (pearl millet). Instead of having white bread, they choose whole grain bread and they often gorge on dry fruits.

8.  No counting calories

According to Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon and many other female actors, counting calories as a way of eating healthy is not sustainable for a long period of time.

We have to spend our entire life focusing on good health, and therefore counting calories each time you sit to have a meal is not preferable. Eating healthy has to become a lifestyle so that the choices you make almost comes out unconsciously.

9. Eating Veggies and Going Vegan

Vegetable juices, fruit juices, vegetable soups, salads are a favourite of celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Malaika Arora, etc. Many prefer mixing two to three forms of vegetables in the mixer and then have it first thing in the morning.

As the world is going vegan, the benefits of veganism have not surpassed the minds of Bollywood celebrities and many are embracing the path. Meat avoiders are growing day by day in the industry and as of now Kangana Ranaut, Richa Chadha, Sonam Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Jacqueline Fernandez and Alia Bhatt have all gone either vegetarian or completely vegan. And by the way, if you are a cricket lover, even Virat Kohli who used to be a hardcore meat lover has turned vegetarian.

10. Having Healthy Munchies

Most of us would agree that while trying to eat healthy, we often falter during making a choice for our evening snacks. The hunger pangs strike so badly during the late evening hours, we feel like gorging on whatever is available nearby.

Well, this problem is not only ours but that of the whole universe including the healthiest female celebrities. But there is a solution to that.

The celebrities in order to avoid this problem at first carry their own evening munchies with them and include a lot of dry fruits, even the normal evening snacks that you may think of but prepare them with whole ingredients. Some of the suggestions that you can fall back on are suji ka halwa, healthy desserts, fruits, etc.

11. Maintaining Portion

You may be following all the above points but your entire effort can go wrong if you do not keep in mind the portion of your food. Overeating healthy food can even destroy your goals and bring you back to square one.

All the celebrities have forever stressed on this point that we all are human beings and when our favourite dish is kept in front of us we will naturally tend to overeat.

But if we become more conscious of the specific amount that our body needs and eat only that much, there would be no hassles on becoming a healthy person. So whether it is our favourite street food, dessert or a normal lunch, remember to listen to your stomach signals and stop when it tells you that it is full.
